At Least 10 Died, 3 Injured in Fire Incident in Lower Kohistan KP

A fire incident happened in the Seri area of Pattan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lower Kohistan on Friday morning, killing at least ten people, including women and children, and injuring three others, according to Dawn.

Farman Ali, Lower Kohistan Rescue 1122 spokesperson said that a fire erupted in a wooden house due to an electric short circuit in the early hours of Friday, when residents were asleep.

The fire was so intense that caused the collapse of the roof, resulting in the deaths of 10 family members and the injury of three others. By the time the residents woke up, the entire house was burning in fire, Ali said.

“The three injured people have been shifted to Pattan’s Rural Health Center for treatment,” Ali added.

It is also reported that eight buffalos perished in the incident. Besides the rescue team, local people also took part in rescue efforts. The rescue team faced serious challenges in retrieving the dead bodies and injured people because it was reportedly still dark.

Fire incidents rising from short electric circuit has caused massive damage to people in different parts of the country in the recent past. One local resident expressed his utmost disappointment in such incidents which cause immense damage to ordinary people.

In the past week, an enormous fire erupted at a commercial building on Karahchi’s Sharea Faisal road, attributed to an electric short circuit lighting up the entire building on fire. Although no casualties were reported, the fire caused major damage to the building.
