The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has warned that if the Taliban do not reverse their decision regarding girls’ education, it will risk a lost generation.
“Afghanistan is the only country in the world that bars them from receiving an education,” UNESCO tweeted.
“Educated and trained women are essential for a nation’s development.”
The news comes as the Taliban have not yet allowed the girls to go to school despite the international pressure on them regarding this issue.
Additionally, they currently do not allow women to go to work, too.
