Tajik President, Emomali Rahmon, in a meeting with Secretary General of Collective Security Treaty Organization, Imangali Tasmagambetov, discussed the situation in Afghanistan, Khovar, the official state media news agency of Tajikistan reported.
The meeting took place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, yesterday March 14, 2023.
However, there are not sufficient details available regarding the meeting, but it has been said that both sides emphasized on their political cooperation, and the expansion of their military and economic coordination.
It was stressed the importance of strengthening comprehensive work to counter challenges and threats to security, in particular terrorism, extremism, radicalism, drug smuggling, cybercrime and transnational organized crime, Khovar added.
The news comes as recently CSTO had expressed its concern regarding the presence of ISIS fighters in provinces near the border of Tajikistan.
