WFP reached 23 mln food-insecure people in Afg last year
United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) said that last year, it reached 23 million food-insecure people across Afghanistan, including 12 million women and girls in Afghanistan.
WFP added that the countries as the UK, Australia as well as Asian Development Bank helped it to do so.
Earlier OCHA predicted that 25 million people in Afghanistan need $1.4 billion to survive, but the UN just provided $2.2 billion last year.
It is mentiinable that the people in Afghanistan have been experiencing unprecedented level of poverty after Taliban’s domination which accompanied with low income of households, political instability, droughts and suspension of international assistance.
