Explosion Rocks Pakistan’s Quetta, Wounding at Least Five
On Sunday, at least five people were injured in an explosion near the Quetta Police Lines area in Pakistan. As per the report, the nature of the blast is not explicit, but the investigation is going on, said officials.
The injured people were taken to the civil hospital in Quetta, said Rescue Operation leader Zeeshan Ahmed who was at the site.
He also added that police and emergency personnel had arrived and roped off the area. As per the report, this is the second incident within a weak in Pakistan. This week earlier, a suicide bombing took place in a mosque in Peshawar, killing more than 101 people and wounding several others.
The report states, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement released Sunday. The statement said that the security personnel were the target of the blast.
Recently, the TTP has increased its attacks on police officers, government officials, and foreign citizens in Pakistan.
Furthermore, Pakistan has announced that it wants to meet Afghan Taliban chief Haibuttallah Akhundzada for assistance in taming the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) responsible for a string of terror attacks in the country, including the recent Peshawar mosque attack that killed more than 101 people, the official said on Saturday.
On the other hand, Pakistan accused Afghan authorities of giving sanctuaries to the outlawed TTP and other militant groups to attack Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Afghan officials firmly refused to utilize Afghanistan’s soil by anyone against Pakistan, adding that Pakistan should not blame others for its own mistakes.
