The responsibility for managing the Hairatan-Mazar Railway is handed over to the Afghanistan Railways Authority.
An Afghan delegation on Friday held talks with Uzbekistan’s railway officials in Uzbekistan during which both sides mutually agreed that responsibilities of the railway should be handed over to the Afghanistan Railway Authority, the authority stated.
The railway was managed by the Uzbek company, Sogdiana Trans, for 11 years.
The officials of the Afghanistan Railway Authority said it was ready to manage the affairs related to the railway line and added that the transfer of responsibility would take place according to a schedule with no interruptions to the transport of commercial goods.
