Doawb District in Nuristan Falls to the Control of Residents, Following Mandol District

Local sources in Nuristan province report that after the Mandol district, the Taliban loses control over the Doawb district of this province too.

According to the information obtained from the local sources, the residents of Doawb have rushed to the center of this district in protest against the killing of Bahramuddin Nuristani, the former police commander of this district.

According to the sources, the local officials of the Taliban, including the district governor of this group, have left the Doawb district administration and some of their fighters have joined the protestors.

Sources add that more than a thousand supporters of this former commander have gathered in the Doawb district from different areas across Nuristan.

This is the second district that gets out of the Taliban’s control in a single day and the residents take over the control of the districts.

Taliban members in Nuristan have not yet commented on the matters.
