Iranian Border Guards Kill One Afghan Child, Injure Another in Nimruz

Sources in Nimruz province have said that Iranian border guards have killed one Afghan child and wounded another along the shared border areas.

Local sources in Nimruz province said on Wednesday (June 22nd) that two Afghan boys were collecting garbage near the border with Iran when they have been attacked by the Iranian border guards.

In response, the Taliban captured two Iranian soldiers, according to sources.

Sources add that in response to the incident, the Silk Bridge, which is the mutual border and gateway for vehicles between the two countries, has been closed by the Taliban.

This is the second time that tensions between Iranian border guards and the Taliban in Nimruz province have resulted in closing of the gate.
