Likening ppl to animals is not the trait of a respectable and recognizable govt: Tomas Niklasson

The EU special envoy for Afghanistan, Tomas Niklasson, reacted to banners of Taliban in cities in which they have compared the women who do not observe hijab to animals.

“The step between likening people to animals and starting treating them the same way is often short. And neither of these actions seems characteristic of a respectable, legitimate or recognisable government,” Mr. Niklasson stated.

The news comes as the Taliban vice and virtue ministry in most parts of Kandahar city, distributing some banners regarding the hijab has said, ” the Muslim woman who does not observe hijab, resembles herself to animals.”

It is mentionable that Taliban could not gain recognition despite their diplomatic efforts since their takeover.
