30 to 40 Civilians Arrested in the First District of Panjshir, Says Taliban Spokesperson

Local Taliban officials have confirmed the detention of civilians in Panjshir province.
Abu Bakr Siddiq, a spokesman for the Taliban governor for Panjshir, said in a video clip on Saturday afternoon (June 4th) that 30 to 40 civilians had been detained by the Taliban in the first district of Panjshir.
While he did not explicitly mention the detention of civilians, he said that they would be released soon with the mediation of the Ulema Council in Panjshir.
In the past few days, more than 100 residents of the Hessa I – first part or first district – and Paryan districts of Panjshir province have been arrested on charges of collaborating with the Resistance Front (NRF). A number of detainees have also been killed.
The Taliban had previously denied detaining civilians in Panjshir.
