Political tension in Pakistan: Supporters of Imran Khan encounter the resistance of police

Former prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, on Monday May 25 urged his supporters to take to the streets, and the situation is decaying in several big cities.

Supporters of Khan first marched in Lahore and Karachi then they took to the streets in Islamabad and faced the resistance of police.

According to Pakistani media outlets, the government of Pakistan has urged the army to take action against furious protesters.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members, supporters of Imran Khan, have set fire on trees and cars in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Earlier, ‘The Independent’ shared a video which showed that protesters led by Imran Khan entered Punjab, and intended to head to Islamabad, capital of Pakistan.

On Tuesday May 24, Imran Khan called on his supporters to take to the streets, and underlined that they will remain in Islamabad untill announcement of dates for dissolution of assemblies and elections are given.

It is mentionable that earlier in March Khan faced no-confidence vote by parliament of Pakistan as a result he resigned, and Shahbaz Sharif became prime minister.
