Taliban Detains a Former Army Soldier in Kabul

Six days ago, the Taliban detained a former army soldier of the Ministry of Defense in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, and took him away to an unknown location, sources report.

According to sources, the detainee’s name is Ahmad Laiq Saifi and he was arrested by the Taliban in the 11th district, Khir Khana area after house-to-house search operations.

For the last six days until now, no clue is available from his location.

He was serving as Protocol Manager of foreign affairs of the Ministry of Defense in the former government.

Ahmad Laiq has done his bachelor’s degree in the military field in India and holds a master’s degree in international relations.

After the fall of the ex-government to the Taliban, he was working in a security company.

However, the Taliban have always denied such detentions, saying they adhere to general amnesty announcements.
