Taliban Announces the Dissolution of Parliament, AIHRC, ICOIC, NSC and HCNR

The Taliban regime has dissolved some institutions under the verbal guidance of its leader, Mullah Hibatullah.

Some key government departments were dissolved, according to a letter issued by the Taliban’s prime minister. These departments include the National Assembly, the National Security Council (NSC), the High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR), Afghanistan’s Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) and the Independent Commission for overseeing the implementation of the Constitution (ICOIC).

The letter, signed by Taliban leaders, has been made available to Hasht-e Subh on Monday.

According to the letter, the Taliban have also announced the dissolution of the secretariats of the National Assembly, from the beginning of this year.

The National Assembly consists of two parts (political and executive) and with the dissolution of these secretariats, the parliament will also be dissolved.

The Taliban had previously dissolved election commissions, the State Ministry for Parliamentary Affairs and Afghanistan’s Human Rights Ministry.
