Panjarah Daily Newspaper Resumes Operations After a Period of Suspension

Kabul – After several months of operations suspension, Panjarah Daily Newspaper, an emerging news agency has resumed its print publications in both Persian and Pashto languages in the country.
Simultaneously, they have raised deep concerns over the imposed restrictions on the media by the Taliban regime.
“Although we resumed our operations, we are worried about the closure of our newspaper due to restrictions,” Nowruz Salehi, the newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief, told Hasht-e Subh today (Monday, May 15).
Mr, Salehi is concerned about the Taliban’s violent behavior toward his newspaper reporters, saying he fears the Taliban would intervene and stop the publication of the newspaper.
Currently, the newspaper is published and distributed three times a week in Kabul, and plans to increase publication to five days a week in the near future.
Since the Taliban returned to power, the majority of media outlets have stopped or suspended operations in Afghanistan and many more are on the verge of closure due to strict restrictions and financial problems.
