Pakistani students invited runaway national security advisor to an speaking event in Oxford Union

Approximately, 11 thousand people singed a petition that urges the cancellation of speaking event of former runaway national security advisor, Hamdullah Mohib, in Oxford Union.

Afghan students at Oxford University say that the speaking event of Mohib will be held, he has been invited by Pakistani students, and they have arranged the event.

But why people protested against this speaking event?

Protesters believe that Mohib is a “national traitor” the one who left thousands of security forces and people to “terrorist Taliban”, and fled the country accompanying Ghani.

Afghan Students Union at Oxford University releasing a statement said that invitation of Mohib can marginalize the issues as violation of human in particular women’s rights.

They said that they would protest to show their dissatisfaction with the decision of Oxford Union. They emphasized that arranging this speaking event insults people of Afghanistan, and must be cancelled.

It is mentionable that Mohib before his escape said that he would defeat the Taliban, but in mid-August 2021, he and Ashraf Ghani fled the country, and left 300 thousands security forces of Afghanistan in an uncertain fate.
