Afghans are dying from lack of medicine: HRW

Human Rights Watch in its latest report said that more than 24.4 million people need humanitarian health aid in Afghanistan in 2022, as Taliban took the power and the world cut its aid.

The report adds that clinics and hospitals are seriously lacking of essential medicines and supplies.

“The country is facing multiple outbreaks of disease, including Covid-19, measles, and diarrhea, as well as acute malnutrition. As many Afghans fall deeper into poverty, the lines outside healthcare facilities are growing,” HRW says.

HRW emphasized that economic crisis in Afghanistan must be addressed, and urgent steps must be taken to allow the Afghan economy to function and rebuild this country’s fragile healthcare system.

After Taliban’s domination Human Rights Watch has repeatedly warned that healthcare system in Afghanistan is on the brink of collapse.
