US: The behavior of Taliban towards women affects their relations with the world

The U.S. State Department had expressed its concern over the latest decision of Taliban regarding the compulsory hijab, and said that behavior of Taliban towards women and human rights issues will cast a shadow on their relations with international community.

The ministry added that Taliban’s recognition that they expect international community, depends on their behavior towards women and girls.

“We are extremely concerned that the rights and progress Afghan women and girls have achieved and enjoyed over the last 20 years are being eroded,” the US State Department spokesman, Ned Price said.

Taliban most recently issuing a decree said that observing hijab is obligatory for women, and added that the ideal type of hijab is Chadori (head-to-toe burqa).
