Kabul – Local sources confirm that commander Malik, the Taliban’s Police Chief Intelligence Director for Panjshir province has joined the National Resistance Front in the province.
Commander Malik has joined the Resistance Front due to the internal disputes among local Taliban members in Panjshir, according to sources.
Over the past three days, he has led fights against the Taliban in Dara Abdullah Khail, Dara district, sources added.
Moreover, sources from amongst the Taliban have confirmed that the Manager of Intelligence for Panjshir Police Headquarters has joined the National Resistance Front as well.
The Taliban had also expelled Haji Malik Dara from his post as the Police Chief for Panjshir a few days ago.
It is said that commander Malik was one of the companions of Ahmad Shah Massoud, the national hero of Afghanistan, but with the re-emergence of the Taliban, he was the first to raise the flag of the Taliban in Dara Panjshir district.
The Taliban for unknown reasons had detained him for a few days before his appointment as the Police Chief in Panjshir province.
After his release from prison, the Taliban appointed him as the Intelligence Director of the Police Headquarters in Panjshir province.
