Pakistani Court Sentences Hafiz Saeed, Lashkar-e-Taiba Leader to 32 Years in Jail

Kabul – An anti-terrorism court in Pakistan has sentenced Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jamaat ud Dawa (JuD) leader, Hafiz Saeed, to 32 years in jail on the charges of two terror financing cases. The court also imposed on Saeed a fine of PKR 340,000.

According to Indian media, he was sentenced on Friday, April 8.

Previously, another Pakistani court had also sentenced Hafiz Saeed to 36 years and in total, he will remain in jail for 68 years.

He is currently being kept in Lakhpat Jail in Lahore under strict security.

Hafiz Saeed was the mastermind behind the 26/11 Mumbai attack that killed 166 people, including six Americans.

In response to the attack, the US State Department offered a bounty of up to $10 million for any information that could lead to his arrest.
