National Wrestling Tournament: Jowzjan Wins Four Gold Medals on National Level Wrestling Tournaments

Kabul – Wrestling athletes from 11 provinces entered the ring for two days in Kunduz Province.

Nazar Mohammad Mutmaeen, General Director of Olympic and Physical Education Committee told Hasht-e Subh that the tournaments had started on Tuesday for two days, and ended with the victory of athletes from Jowzjan province.

The winners of the tournaments and those athletes with outstanding performance will be introduced to participate in overseas tournaments on behalf of Afghanistan to raise the national flag in the international level tournaments.

In total, athletes from 11 provinces in two age categories participated the tournaments. Jowzjan province, winning four gold medals was awarded the first position, Kunduz province, winning two gold medals was awarded the second, and Badakhshan province winning one gold medal was awarded the third position.

On the first day of the tournaments, the athletes of Kunduz province won the first position, Takhar and Jowzjan provinces were the second and third positions sequentially, but the scenario changed during the second day of the match and Jowzjan province won the match by winning four gold medals.
