Sirajuddin Haqqani Appears in Front of the Media for the First Time

Kabul – The acting Interior Minister of the Taliban government, Sirajuddin Haqqani, appeared in front of the media at a graduation ceremony held by the Police Academy on Saturday (March 5).

Haqqani is under UN sanctions and the US has set a higher price for his head or information leading to his arrest.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has doubled the price to $10 million since the group came to power in August 2021.

Haqqani, the leader of the Haqqani Network, is one of the most powerful figures in the Taliban government.

Under the terms defined in the Doha agreement, sanctions were to be lifted, however, this has not yet been done. The two sides accused each other of not delivering their commitments.
