An Afghan-Canadian researcher, peacebuilding practitioner and civil activist, Mariam Safi, expressed her concern about the worsening of situation in Afghanistan.
Ms. Safi reiterated that international community must observe Taliban’s deeds closely. According to her nearly 70% of media outlets have closed and 72% of the journalists have lost their jobs are women.
“Repression of women’s rights appears central to the Taliban’s vision for Afghanistan,” she said.
She added that Taliban are searching houses, through this act they spread fear among ordinary people.
The news comes as Taliban have started house-to-house search since last Friday in Kabul, Kapisa, Parwan and Panjshir provinces, which elicited internal and international reactions.
