India Evacuates 219 Indian Nationals from Ukraine

Kabul – Following the escalation of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, India has evacuated at least 219 of its citizens on a private flight from Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.

“We are making progress on the evacuation of Indians from Ukraine,” Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar tweeted on Saturday, February 26.

According to him, the first flight to evacuate Indian citizens was from Romania, which transferred more than 200 citizens to Mumbai.

The military situation in Ukraine is reported to be extremely severe. Recently, Russian forces have taken over one of the Ukrainian military bases near Kyiv.

Meanwhile, most Afghan citizens are also trapped in clashes in various Ukrainian cities, and the country’s foreign ministry has said it is working to evacuate them.
