Kabul – The acting foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi met with Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Iran’s special representative for Afghanistan, in Kabul.
Abdul Latif Mansoor, the acting Minister of Water and Energy also attended the meeting, tweeted Hafiz Zia Ahmad, deputy spokesperson for the foreign minister on Wednesday, February 23.
“The meeting focused on Afghanistan’s economic situation, political relations, and positive developments,” said Hafiz Zia Ahmad.
According to him, the meeting was positive and stressed the need to establish relations and economic development between the two countries and its continuation.
During the visit, Helmand water not reaching Iran was further discussed.
Meanwhile, the minister of Energy and Water called Helmand’s water shortage to Iran a technical problem and said Kabul was devoted to the water agreement which was signed between the two countries in 1972.
