Kabul – One person was killed and 14 others were injured in an explosion at the Qala-e-Naw mosque in Badghis province, security sources confirm.
“The explosion took place today afternoon at the southern gate of the central grand mosque in Qala-e-Naw, the capital of the province,” said Mohammad Sarwari, director of Information and Culture in the province.
The blast occurred as worshipers were leaving the mosque; meanwhile, all the causalities are civilians.
Moreover, Sarwari says that according to preliminary information, the incident was caused by throwing a hand grenade among worshipers.
In the meantime, 10 suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
It is worth mentioning that the increase in criminal crimes and such attacks in recent days has worried the citizens of the country.
