Kabul – Local sources in Panjshir and Parwan provinces confirm that the building districts of Panjshir’s Dara and Salang of Parwan province have been targeted by rockets.
According to the sources, the attacks took place on Saturday night, January 29.
However, local Taliban officials in Parwan province deny a rocket attack on a building in the Salang district of the province.
“Only a few shots were fired at the police headquarters with long-range light weapons,” said Abdurraziq Mohammadi, Salang district police chief.
On the other hand, local sources in Panjshir province say that last night the building of the Dara district of the province was also the target of rocket attacks, saying the fired rockets did not hit the building of the district.
In the meantime, they also added that this morning a Taliban Ranger vehicle was targeted by a roadside mine in Bazarak district of Panjshir province which the blast did not cause any casualties.
Local Taliban officials in Panjshir province, however, have denied the two incidents.
On the other hand, Taliban spokesman Abu Bakr Siddiq for Panjshir province called the allegations rumors.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks; however, the Taliban’s police chief for the Salang district in Parwan province blamed members of the National Resistance Front led by Ahmad Massoud for attacking the district building.
