The US will make a decision about Afghan frozen assets in two weeks

The National News Agency reported that a federal court in the US has set a two-week deadline to Biden’s administration to make its decision on Afghan frozen assets.

According to the report the deadline ended yesterday, but Sarah Netburn, a judge in a court in Manhattan extended the deadline to February 11 so that Justice Department could make its decision about Afghan reserves in the US banks.

After Taliban’s takeover more than$9 billion of Afghan assets froze by the US, and this government have put conditions on releasing the funds.

Meanwhile according to reports the September 11 victims’ families have urged more than $7 billion of that money as compensation,.

Taliban’s government have repeatedly emphasized on unfreezing of that assets.

The freezing of Afghan assets has led to economic crisis and sharp rise of USD against Afghani.
