Kabul – Sources in the Qala-e-Naw, the capital of Badghis province, confirm that a young boy committed suicide by shooting himself due to poverty.
“He was graduated from the school and after many searches, he could not find a job for himself and finally committed suicide due to poverty,” the victim’s relatives, told Hasht-e Subh today (Saturday, January 29).
“He committed suicide at his home in the village of Deh Sorkhak in Qala-e-Naw city,” said Ghousuddin Afghan, the Taliban’s chief of security for Badghis province.
Local Taliban officials in the province are unaware of the cause for the incident, however, some of his relatives consider the poor mental state caused by poverty and unemployment to be the cause for his suicide.
Meanwhile, Badghis is one of the provinces that has experienced successive droughts in the last few years and the majority of people in this province are struggling with poverty and hunger.
