Kabul – The Interior Ministry of the Taliban-led government has said that there was no mention of the US threat in the interview of Sirajuddin Haqqani with the Al Jazeera news channel.
The Hasht-e Subh newspaper and some other media outlets reported the news on Wednesday, January 26, quoting Al Jazeera TV and MEMRI TV.
In the interview, Sirajuddin Haqqani had told Al Jazeera that with the illegitimacy of the Taliban regime, the doors of animosity with the Afghan people will be kept open.
Haqqani, meanwhile, had told Al Jazeera that if the Taliban-led government is recognized, no one will be threatened.
However, the Interior Ministry of the Taliban has stated that in Haqqani’s interview, no threatening words have been used against the US.
On the other hand, the ministry added that there would be no threat to any country from the Taliban-acting government or the country’s soil.
