US to Resettle 2,000 Afghan Refugees in Massachusetts

Kabul – The authorities of the New England International Institute in Massachusetts say the state has the capacity to accept more asylum seekers.

About 2,000 Afghan refugees are scheduled to be relocated to Massachusetts by the end of next month, US media reported today (Tuesday, January 25).

Moreover, Massachusetts expects to accept as many Afghan asylum seekers as it predicted after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan.

However, the figure for resettlement in the state was 1,100, which is set to be doubled.

It is worth mentioning that the number of Afghan refugees in Massachusetts is higher than in any other state in the Northeast of the US.
