Women in Daikundi Protest Against Unfair Distribution of Humanitarian Aid

Women’s rights activists in Daikundi rallied to protest the unfair distribution of humanitarian aid in the province.

They say the aid is being distributed unfairly based on “ethnic and linguistic affiliation.”

Najiba Ahmadi, one of the protesters, told Hasht-e Subh on Monday that women activists in the province had to protest indoors under the slogan “Why are women without guardians deprived of international humanitarian aid?”

According to Ahmadi, the protesters demanded the proper management of humanitarian aid in Daikundi province.

Najiba Ahmadi says humanitarian aid in Daikundi province is being unfairly distributed to the relatives of officials, adding that deserving families are not included in the distribution lists.

Protesters also called on aid workers to closely monitor the process of aid distribution in the province.

Afghanistan’s civilians in other provinces have already criticized the unfair distribution of humanitarian aid.
