Kabul – Local Taliban officials in Ghor province say heavy snowfall in the province has blocked all roads in the province to the center.
Abdul Hai Zaeem, head of Taliban information and culture for Ghor, told Hasht-e Subh today (Saturday, January 22) that the Ghor-Kabul and Ghor-Herat highways have been also closed to traffic from the Bandabain route, saying efforts have begun to reopen the roads.
Mr. Zaeem asked the people not to travel anywhere in Ghor province until further notice and to contact local officials if necessary.
Meanwhile, local officials in Badghis province reported that six vehicles in the Sabzak Pass, which connects Qala-e-Naw to Herat, had been trapped in the snow since this morning, and efforts were underway to rescue them.
They also asked travelers in Herat and Badghis to refrain from traveling on this route.
