Kabul – Some Hizb ut-Tahrir members have been arrested by the Taliban’s Intelligence Department in Takhar province, according to local sources.
“They were arrested on charges of membership to the Hizb ut-Tahrir party, preaching, and paving the ground for (ISKP) group,” a Taliban security source told Hasht-e Subh.
However, the local Taliban officials in Takhar province have not officially commented on their arrest.
It is worth mentioning that Hizb ut-Tahrir had many programs in Takhar during the ex-regime which the government had ordered a ban on the party’s gatherings.
