Acting foreign minister of Taliban, Amir Khan Muttaqi met president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Pakistan.
Spokesman of Taliban’s foreign ministry, Abdul Qahar Balkhi, says that both sides discussed the OIC summit and unity and solidarity among Muslims.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman is a fundamentalist Pakistani Deobandi politician and president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam in Pakistan. He and another Pakistani religious scholar that killed last year, named Maulana Sami ul Haq are both known as Taliban’s fathers.
Fazlur Rahman supported suicide attacks in Afghanistan during the presidency of Ghani and Karzai, and has requested the government of Pakistan to recognize the Taliban.
Fazlur Rahman repeatedly had said that Jihad and were was obligatory in Afghanistan, but prohibited in Pakistan.
